Description
This handsome pair of blue and white porcelain vases is produced by Andrea by Sadek, a well-regarded American importer known for bringing quality Chinese export-style ceramics to the Western market throughout the latter half of the 20th century. The brand became synonymous with affordable chinoiserie that faithfully echoed the aesthetic of Ming and Qing dynasty blue-and-white ware. Each vase features a square footed body that transitions into a tiered mid-section and flared hexagonal neck — a form rooted in classical Chinese gu and fanghu vessel traditions. The hand-painted cobalt decoration includes lotus scrolls, peony blossoms, Greek key borders, and plantain leaf motifs at the neck, all rendered with confident brushwork on a crisp white ground. This pair would complement a traditional, chinoiserie, or eclectic interior and works beautifully as a mantel grouping or bookshelf accent. Andrea by Sadek pieces in this style continue to attract collectors who appreciate quality decorative porcelain at attainable price points.
