Description
This lovely collection of Chinese blue and white porcelain brings together several complementary patterns beloved by collectors of Asian ceramics. The standout pieces include a set of stacked dinner plates featuring a bold imperial dragon design with classic rice-grain pierced borders — a motif rooted in centuries of Chinese porcelain tradition. Additional pieces showcase the equally iconic koi fish pattern, appearing on a lidded sugar jar and a small creamer, symbolizing good fortune and abundance in Chinese culture. The collection also includes rice-grain pattern bowls of varying sizes, a miniature teapot with small sake or spirit cups, and additional rice bowls — suggesting this was assembled over time by someone with a genuine appreciation for traditional Chinese table arts. Rice-grain porcelain, with its translucent pierced body, is a technique dating back to the Qing dynasty and remains highly prized. This is a wonderful opportunity for a collector, restaurant decorator, or enthusiast of Asian art to acquire a charming and functional grouping of blue and white Chinese porcelain in one purchase. Pieces can be used together for an eclectic Asian table setting or displayed as a collection.
Condition
GoodMost pieces appear in good condition with clean blue and white decoration. Small cream pitcher shows some wear/discoloration at base. Mix of patterns including dragon motif plates, fish motif lidded jar and creamer, rice grain pattern bowls. One plain white bowl with blue rim appears mismatched. Minor surface wear consistent with use.
